Emma Murphy
Principal
Emma Murphy is one of the three founders of TNG. She has nearly two decades of experience as a corporate communications counselor with extensive experience in message development, thought leadership positioning, stakeholder engagement and strategic media relations.
In addition to her role managing TNG, she directs the firm’s relationships with Ardian, GS1 US, J.P. Morgan Private Bank and PwC. Throughout her career, Emma has advised industry leaders including PwC, FTI Consulting, Standard and Poor’s, GMI, Credit Lyonnais and Mercer Delta Consulting.
Her expertise spans multiple sectors and issues including asset management, banking, corporate governance, credit ratings, electronic evidence, energy, forensic accounting, global standards, infrastructure, intellectual property, M&A, personal finance, private equity, restructurings, risk, securities litigation, telecom, and turnarounds. Emma has developed extensive relationships with the business, financial and trade press within the financial services and professional services arenas.
Prior to TNG, Emma was a Director at Gavin Anderson & Company New York. Emma holds a BA in Public Relations from RMIT, Melbourne, Australia, with a politics major and finance minor.
David Neibart
Principal
David Neibart is one of the three founders of TNG. He has 22 years of experience as a communications consultant, advising companies and leading agency teams on engagements spanning corporate reputation, thought leadership, crisis management, copywriting, consumer campaigns and internal communications.
David has a particular specialization in the financial services sector, having developed and executed programs for clients including J.P. Morgan Private Bank, Charles Schwab, Morgan Stanley, Russell Investments, Ardian, Northwestern Mutual, NewAlliance Bank, Van Kampen Investments, T. Rowe Price, New York Life, NYCE Corporation, OppenheimerFunds and Zurich Financial Services.
Prior to founding TNG, David was Managing Director at Gavin Anderson & Company in New York (GA), responsible for the Corporate Practice Group across North America. David joined GA from corporate and financial communications firm McDonough & Associates, where he was a Senior Associate.
David joined McDonough & Associates in 1993 from IW Publications, a publisher of trade magazines located in Seattle, Washington. During his tenure with IW, he was the editor of a monthly publication serving the industrial marketplace; and a beat writer for a monthly magazine serving insurance agents and adjusters. David graduated from Skidmore College.
Kerstin Österberg
Principal
Kerstin Österberg has almost two decades of experience in corporate communications consulting, media relations and content marketing, and in that time has developed deep expertise in the financial and professional services sectors. Her career has spanned the US and Asia, and has included asset management, investment banking, trading, insurance and advisory services.
In addition to her role managing TNG, Kerstin (pronounced "Shasteen") directs the firm’s relationships with Schwab Advisor Services and Russell Investments. Her client experience includes Schwab Charitable, Northwestern Mutual, Mercer Delta Consulting, Morgan Stanley and FTI Consulting.
Before establishing TNG, Kerstin was a Director at Gavin Anderson & Company, a global PR firm owned by Omnicom. Kerstin spent five years with the firm and worked in both the New York and Tokyo offices. Her clients included T. Rowe Price, New York Life, Russell Investments, Fidelity Investments, Barclays Capital and ING Barings.
Kerstin’s career in communications began in the information technology sector as a consultant at Howorth Communications, an Ogilvy PR Worldwide Partner Company based in Sydney, Australia. She maintains a keen interest in technology and its impact on business and lifestyle. An early adopter, she has spearheaded TNG’s social media and content marketing capabilities on behalf of clients.
Kerstin holds a Bachelor of Arts from Charles Sturt University – Mitchell, where she majored in organizational communications and journalism.
